Because we don't believe in hiding anything from our customers,

we've listed all the ingredients used in our hand and body lotion. Compare what you're using now to our product - unless it's artisan-made, it probably contains unnecessary chemicals.

**Note: natural ingredients appear in black, red type with an asterisk denotes synthetic ingredients.**

Pure distilled water

Aloe vera gel helps relieve dryness, stimulates new healthy tissue growth and has natural antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties.  Aloe has the unique ability to penetrate skin 4 times faster than water, stimulating new cell growth and replenishing lost moisture.

Emulsifying Wax NF A vegetable based emulsifier used to keep water and oil combined for lotions, creams, conditioners, etc

Sodium lactate is the sodium salt of lactic acid.  It is produced by neutralizing lactic acid, which is produced by fermentation of a sugar source. Sodium lactate is a natural humectant, moisturizer and pH regulator.

Glycerin is a by-product of the soapmaking process.  Fats used in the soap manufacturing process naturally contain from 7-13 percent glycerin.  When the fats and lye interact, soap is formed.  Glycerin remains chemically separate from the soap but becomes part of the finished product if that product is made by an artisan soapmaker.  A commercial soapmaker uses salt to separate the glycerin from the soap.  The glycerin is then distilled to remove impurities and finally filtered through charcoal to remove any unwanted color.  Glycerin is hygroscopic which means it draws moisture from the air.  Combined with water, it is used in lotion for its skin softening properties.

Stearic Acid Derived from palm, stearic acid is an organic nutrient that is used as an emollient, to soothe and soften skin. It is an antioxidant and Vitamin A compound.

Fractionated coconut oil is coconut oil with all the long chain triglycerides removed. This process gives it a very stable shelf life and increases the antioxidant properties of the oil. FCO is a light, non-greasy oil that has excellent skin-penetration properties and is often used in massage therapy.

Babassu oil Brazilian women have used Babassu oil for hundreds of years to keep their skin soft, smooth, and beautiful. It is a light, non-greasy natural emollient that moisturizes the skin giving it a nice velvet like feel.  It creates an invisible barrier that will help retain moisture and keeps out dirt and grime.  Babassu Oil is good for all skin-types and has been shown to be beneficial for eczema, itchy, dry and inflamed skin.

Macadamia nut oil (another light oil often used in massage therapy.) contains a high amount of palmitoleic acid, making it an effective antioxidant.  Palmitoleic acid is an Omega-7 in natural glycerides.  Macadamia Nut oil has a naturally high concentration of around 40 percent.  It is suitable for all skin types but particularly good for dry or mature skin, protecting it like natural sebum.  It penetrates and hydrates the skin quickly.

Mango butter is traditionally used in the rain forests and tropics for its skin softening, soothing, moisturizing and protective properties and to restore flexibility and reduce degeneration of skin cells. It also has a protective effect against UV radiation.

Silk amino acids are hydrolyzed fiber from the silk cocoons woven by silkworms.   Used in lotion, it actually pulls moisture into the skin, helping to prevent dehydration and imparts a soft, velvety feel.

Allantoin is used to hasten the growth of new healthy skin tissue.  It is an anti-inflammatory antioxidant that repairs photodamage and reduces skin inflammation following UV radiation.  It also helps prevent and temporarily protects chafed, chapped, cracked, or wind burned skin.

Fragrance* We use the highest quality, certified skin-safe fragrance oils at or below recommended rates for use in all our products.

Any product containing water must contain a preservative.  We use a safe, naturally-derived preservative system that is paraben-free (parabens are a suggested cancer causing agent) and is approved by ECOCERT as an accepted preservative in certified organic cosmetics.   Lotions without preservatives have a shelf-life of a week or less and must be kept in the refrigerator.  Tocopherol Vitamin E, Grapefruit Seed Extract & Rosemary Oleoresin Extract are antioxidants and do not guard against mold and bacteria - please be safe and only buy lotions that contain a preservative!
